Reel 1:
Segment 1 (sound): San Jose Assemblyman William Stanton is asked whether he agrees that California will be in an unfavorable market position due to farm worker organization. He says that he doesn't think California should compete by sacrificing worker conditions, and that he's confident agriculture can adjust to changes.
Segment 2 (sound): Cesar Chavez at press conference in San Francisco. Chavez announced that workers would call for a nationwide boycott of Di Giorgio Corporation, in response to company's willingness to hold an election to determine whether farm workers wanted union representation. Chavez said that conditions of election were not acceptable to the workers.
Segment 3 (silent): San Jose businesses closed for Good Friday afternoon. Mass at St. Joseph's Church, and Feast of the Pass at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Close-ups of signs posted on businesses observing Good Friday closure; shoppers in downtown San Jose; church service at St. Joseph's Church; orthodox service at St. Nicholas where flowers representing the ointment and myrrh with which the body of the Savior was anointed were passed out to worshipers.
Segment 4 (silent): Washington State defeats San Jose State in baseball at San Jose State.
Segment 5 (silent): Ladies of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4236 Auxiliary create stained Easter eggs for the San Jose Parks and Recreation Department ahead of San Jose's Easter Egg Hunt. Footage of flats of eggs, women and children working on the eggs, and a small child in an Easter bunny hat who hasn't quite got the hang of things.
Reel 2 (silent): Five alarm fire in Mission District of San Francisco, with footage of flames pouring out of roof at night, firemen battling the fire with hoses, ladder truck, aftermath in the morning with water hoses snaked across the street, buildings completely destroyed.
Reel 3 (silent + sound): Apollo astronaut James Irwin arrives at Moffett Field. Silent footage of Irwin exiting a fighter plane and walking towards the camera. Sound interview by Dick Currier, asking what it's like to be in line for the moon. Irwin's brother, and parents are also interviewed.
